Long Island Sound

Originally one half of a larger house on the water, this house was raised to accommodate a full basement, and shifted slightly to the west, to capture the stunning sun sets over the water. The house was stripped inside and out, carefully restored and with the addition of a garage and modified mudroom and laundry hall, became a spacious, open, convenient and inviting residence. The cypress and chestnut wood which was removed from inside and out, was then used for flooring, walls and the custom dining table and kitchen hutch. The design and interior of the house was driven by the clients' love of the ocean and their contemporary aesthetic.
